This page is full of articles, photographs, and a few other things that I really, really enjoy for one reason or another. I've tried to divide them into categories as best I can, but some things will inevitably be in the wrong place. Debate, discuss, enjoy!
Interfaith Relations
1. Brian McLaren responds to Christian Islamophobia on CNN.
Christian Spiritual Formation:
1. Desiring the Kingdom by James K. A. Smith is a fabulous look at how we are formed as people and why it is that we do worship the way we do.
2. Jonathan Edwards (yes, that Jonathan Edwards) writes about the "Religious Affections," more commonly known today as the fruit of the Spirit. He writes about it really well, actually, which means that you should go read it.
3. Here's a link for a daily lectionary, or selection of readings from the Bible to guide your own study and prayer. It's incredibly useful for those of us who look at our Bibles and say "uhhh..." when it comes time to study Scripture. (Also on this site is the weekly lectionary, which many churches follow!)
4. Seeking God's Face is an introduction to the spiritual practice of lectio divina--a prayer-centered way to look at Scripture. It's set up like a daily devotional, but it has a selection of Biblical texts and some guides for prayer and reflection. I use this almost daily!
Caring for People:
1. Sponsor a child through Compassion International or World Vision. You can probably spare the $38 per month, and you will change a child's life forever. Through this program, I've been able to see a little girl in Thailand grow up, and be her big sister in America, for five years. You will never regret this.
2. Connect with WCOI Bangalore to sponsor an audio Bible. I connected with this ministry in 2013 while in India, and the work they do is phenomenal and life-changing.
